The theme for this year's 8 March campaign was set by the NFIW executive committee. Reflecting the crisis of democracy that the country is currently witnessing, the theme was decided as:
DEFEND SECULARISM & DEFEAT MAJORITY APPEASEMENT
NFIW strongly believes that democracy needs to be a political system where the rights and dignity of the minorities and marginalized are safeguarded. We are committed to fighting forces that are trying to impose a tyranny in the name of the majority on social, economic, political and religious minorities. We will continue to working towards safeguarding their safeguard their constitutional and human rights.
Talking about our goals and the spirit with which NFIW took the issue of Justice for minorities, Delhi NFIW leaders conveyed the message of secularism in the joint 8th March programme with other left groups.

On account of Holi, the joint programme was held on the 10th of March.
